Where'd You Learn to Design Like THAT?

Alright, I'll admit it, I'm partial to schooling when it comes to design. I do think that there is something to be said about studying the principles of design and being forced to do stuff you don't want to do (call it early career training if you want), but most of all, having someone assign you projects is a great way to develop your skills at applying a concept to a specific situation, which is really no different than working with a client. Sometimes limitations are a good thing, they help you focus your creativity instead of letting your mind wander and never getting anything done. With that said, I would also like to say that I wasn't taught how to design like Matt Keers and am green with envy! I won't blame my school, the graphic design program is tough, the professors are smart and inspiring, and the students are simply starving, but I just didn't see design the way Matt does. Speaking of schools, Matt recently graduated from Liverpool John Moore University and was an intern at SEA, Man vsMachine, Liquid, BB/Saunders, and Mercy – all insanely great places which I'll feature later on this month. His style is crisp, fresh, bold, and minimalist. Believe it or not, Matt isn't currently employed, so if you're looking for a design extraordinaire, you better hurry up and contact him as I'm sure he is in very high demand.
