Esteban's Beautiful Poster Designs

Don't know much about this amazing designer except that he goes by Esteban and is from north England, but I do know that he is tremendously talented and just love the way he treats high contrast photography with an accent color then layering a memorable type treatment on top. Check out his entire portfolio by clicking here.

Yula Brodskaya's Whimsical Paper Creations

I'm very excited about this posting, I think this is one of the most inspirational designer yet, and I owe it all to my wonderful office buddy, Jay Runquist, who informed me of Yula Brodskaya. Yula was born in Russia where she began her career as a fine artist producing contemporary office decoration artwork for Moscow based companies while studying for her first degree in Graphic Design. In 2004, she moved to London, earned her M.A. in Graphic Communication and has since been busy with parallel careers as an illustrator and a freelance graphic designer. She is contanstly experimenting and evolving, always pushing her style in new directions, and her greatest passion is to explore illustration and typography combinations. Her style is definitely whimsical, but it's also delicate, thoughtful, comforting, and beautiful. The light and organic shapes that wrap around the typography create a balanced contract, however, they also reflect each other as they are both completely flawless. To see her entire portfolio, check out her website.

Christmas Inspiration Brought to You by The Land of Nod

The Land of Nod is always a great source of inspiration for contemporary and modern illustrations, home products, and patterns for children and holidays. I was really impressed with their refreshing color palette for the 2008 Holiday season since it is bright and colorful, but keeps some of the more traditional colors like the red, white, and green, making it easy to recognize, but with a slight twist. They've also expanded the "usual" characters of the Christmas icon list to include penguins, dogs, polar bears, etc...

Thinkdust's Process to Making Typefaces

Thinkdust is an independent design studio founded by Alex Haigh with a simple aim: to fully inject creativity, communication and passion into each and every project they touch. Their approach is one of structure executed with good planning, management, and design, which I find accurately depicted in the images below as they developed the typeface called "Hiruko." The finished product is clean, fresh, and highly legible, something I find difficult to achieve when i design my own typefaces. Click here to visit their website and all their work.

Emil Kozak Keeps It Fresh

Emil Kozak is from a small town in Denmark, and was inspired to take on graphic design as a result of his life long passion for skateboarding. Inspired by skateboard-art, Emil Kozak began developing his skills at an early age and the result a unique artist with brilliant ideas. A master of composition with the utmost attention to detail, his style is fresh and positive, often concealing a deeper message. His goal is simple: ”I hope that my work can remind us that imagination can defy gravity and bend time. It is our own responsibility to enjoy every second of the day. Nobody else can do that for us. Have fun, eat candy, do what you love, love what you do… We might get thrown off this spinning ball of iron and mantle tomorrow." View all of his work here.

Craftster.org — A Lil Something My Work Wife Will Love

I stumbled upon Craftster.org today and thought of all the crafty people I know — especially my work wife, Sara — who would absolutely love it! Craftster.org was established in August 2003 by Leah Kramer as a repository for hip, off-beat, crafty DIY projects. It's a great resource for anyone who's into crafts and they sell the cutest T-shirts (see below) here.
